There are 2 types of sunblock, chemical and physical. The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends that if an infant under 6 months cannot avoid being int the sun and non-chemical or physical sunblock (like California Baby®) should be used. California Baby® sunblock is a non-chemical PABA (p-Aminobenzoic acid) free and Octyl Methoxycinnamate free sunscreen. It is a highly micronized titanium dioxide (non- whitening) that scatters and reflects dangerous UV rays and offers protection from both UVA and UVB rays. California Baby® also includes Japanese Green Tea (for its antioxidant properties) and a beautiful essential oil blend. It applies easily and remains effective for 80 minutes after activity in water or perspiring. It is also a non-staining formula so you don’t have to worry about staining clothes or swim suits and has a beautiful scent of an aromatherapy blend that includes lemongrass.  Cintronella bug blend available for added bug protection.

California Baby® sunblock comes in a convenient flip-top tube, can be used on the face and body and does not sting the eyes. As with all California Baby® products it contains organic and sustainably grown ingredients. The formula is non-invasive, hypoallergenic, and non-comedogenic. Keep in mind that in spite of the AAP’s recommendations above they strongly recommend that because an infants skin is very thin and sensitive infants under 6 months should be kept out of the sun.
